snap up

(phr v) to buy or get something quickly and enthusiastically because it is cheap or exactly what you want
搶購

  • The surgical masks were snapped up within 3 minutes of going on sale online.
    該批外科口罩在網上開賣後,三分鐘內就被搶購一空。

 

stockpile

(v) to store a large supply of something for future use
囤積

  • People have been stockpiling everything from masks and alcohol swabs to rice and even toilet rolls.
    人們已囤積了各種物品,包括口罩、酒精紙巾、白米、甚至廁紙。

 

quarantine

(v) to put an animal or person in quarantine
隔離(動物或人)

  • The government will quarantine visitors to the city for 14 days to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
    政府將對到訪旅客進行隔離檢疫14天,以防止冠狀病毒傳播。
